REGISTRATION FOR THE CONFERENCE IS OPEN!

Registration fees exclude:

  • Farewell Reception
  • Accommodation and travel costs

Prices are in South African Rand (ZAR) and included 15% Value Added Tax (VAT).

REGISTRATION FEES
Standard Rate : R3000
For permanently employed and tenured staff
Solidarity Rate: R4000
For those with available research and travel funds; this rate will contribute to the attendance of activists, civil society members, and bursary applicants at the current or next POLLEN conference.
Discounted Rate : R1250
For postgraduates, the unemployed, and those in tenuous employment.

SOCIAL EVENTS

NETWORKING RECEPTION AND EXHIBITION

When: Tuesday, 27 June 2023
Where: Howard College Lawns

Time: 17:00 – 19:00

All registered participants are invited to attend. There is no additional ticket purchase required. The Networking Reception and Exhibition is planned on the opening night of the conference for registered full conference attendees. We will have the following exhibitions on display, and the curators will be with us to speak about their work:-

Political Ecology in comic book form by Tim Zocco

Indigenous Amazonian artwork curated by Felipe Milanez

Informality in Durban: Narratives of home, and impacts of the 2022 floods by Alexandra Rose Howland and Catherine Sutherland

We will also screen a number of short films relating to Political Ecology in the Howard College Theatre.

 

FAREWELL RECEPTION

When: Thursday, 29 June 2023
Where: The Blue Waters Hotel, Fontainebleau, 175 Snell Parade, Marine Parade, Durban

Time: 18:00 – 20:00

Tickets: R500 per person

This farewell drinks and snacks function will be held at the Blue Waters Hotel on the closing night of the conference.

Note that this is a separately billed item for attendees that elected to join. The recommended dress is smart casual, and a cash bar will be available.
